Blizzcon Speculation

Wheel of Expansions!
There seems to be a lot of speculation as to what surprises Blizzard has in store for the world on friday. They have already stated that there is a third development team working on 'something really cool'. My guess is that we'll be seeing a Diablo III announcement sometime soon out of that... maybe not at BlizzCon this week.

Wow Insider also has an Anonymous Tip saying that the songs 'Northrend 1, 2 and 3' are included in the sheet music that Video Games Live will be playing from at the closing concert on Saturday night. I think we'll probably see an announcement of Northrend as the next wow expansion this week. Given the existence of Howling Fjord flora and fauna in the expansion_02 folder inside your MPQs, all signs are pointing toward Prince Arthas.

As far as rumors on the playable content, I would be surprised if Blizzard has any Northrend ready for us to check out this week. What I really expect is for us to be given the opportunity to check out the progress on Zul'Aman, but who knows. I suspect it will be one of the featured topics of the Raid & Dungeon discussion panel.

I spent the better part of the afternoon getting stocked up for the convention. Comfortable new shoes and socks for the hard concrete convention hall have been acquired. I also picked up a cheap offbrand digital camera for backup, as well as a USB modem for the laptop. Last year the Desert Palms' internet was not so happy with every single nerd in the hotel trying to use it. I'm staying at the Anabella this year, since I was too slow to book a room at the Hilton (bleh) across from the convention hall. Hopefully the internet will work out, but if not at least I have a backup plan, unlike last time.

This year I also have some friends helping cover the events, which should work out great. If the leaked convention schedule is correct, there are less repeat panels.

Cheers!
