Blizzcon Journal - Thursday August 2ndPosted by Cob on August 3, 2007, 03:15 AM We're all set up here at the Anabella Hotel, a long block away from BlizzCon.
The badge pickup was split out alphabetically, with the 'S' line being abnormally longer than any others. Being a 'H' I picked my badge and lootbag up fairly quickly, but had to wait around for 20mins or so for Armrha to pick up his pass for himself and Evelyn. While standing in line I noticed a missed call from Evertofides (a warlock guildmate of mine in Stonecutters). She was with Fallee and Shrug (two ex-guildmates), they had just finished picking up their convention passes, and we had already planned to meetup and grab some dinner, but they still needed to check into their hotel. I hopped onto Uther to ask Vicini (an anaheim area local) if he had any suggestions for where to go to eat; he recommended Stubrik's Steakhouse in Downtown Fullerton, and we headed there for a dinner and a couple hours of mindless wow chatter. ;) While logged into Uther, I had noticed someone from Ring of Valor in the Aldor bank with both the murloc suit and the murloc pet from the 2005 convention. The murloc redeem basically involves plugging in the account code on the card out of the loot bag into Blizzards webpage. It then gives you a code to use in game. The instructions on the page sends you to booty bay, but farther down the page it has instructions on redeeming your 'baby murloc', which is, for the horde back in Orgrimmar. Looks like someone at Blizzard forgot to update the page with current instructions. Other items in the grab bag include the black 'World of Warcraft' T-Shirt (gold logo from Jinx) - Size XL, as well as a ton of misc advertisements for all sorts of litter. There's starcraft coasters, a magnet, cards, a coin, etc. I'll try and get some scans over in the gallery at some point. Tomorrow morning, we'll be getting up early and headed over to the convention hall. I'm certain by noon Blizzard will also unveil whatever cinematic they're showing at the convention to the rest of the web, and http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath/ will no longer be returning a 403 permission denied error. (Unless of course all the news hungry web surfers overwhelm their site). There's a handful of pics uploaded in the BlizzCon 2007 gallery, and more to come. |
